Represents the district in the U.S. House of Representatives, which writes federal laws, approves the federal budget and taxes, and oversees the executive branch.
2-year term. Under the Proposition 50 map, the southern San Joaquin Valley district spans parts of Kern, Tulare, Kings, Fresno and Madera counties, adding areas of Fresno and shedding parts of Hanford, Tulare and Porterville. Incumbent David Valadao (R, 40.7%) and Randy Villegas (D, 32.4%) were the top two finishers in the June 2, 2026 top-two primary.

David Valadao
U.S. Representative, California District 22 (since 2023)David Valadao is a Hanford dairy farmer and the son of Portuguese immigrants who has served in the House in 2013–2019 and again since 2021, and chairs the Republican Governance Group. He is running on water supply, agriculture, jobs and costs in the Central Valley, and support for seniors and veterans.

Visalia school board trustee; professor at College of the SequoiasRandy Villegas is a College of the Sequoias political science professor, Visalia Unified school board trustee and co-owner of his family's auto shop who was raised in Kern County and is the son of immigrants from Mexico. His campaign centers on Medicare for All, lowering living costs, workers' rights, and limits on corporate money in politics.
