U.S. senators represent Colorado in the U.S. Senate, voting on federal legislation and budgets, confirming presidential nominees, and ratifying treaties.

6-year term. Regular election for the full six-year term beginning Jan. 3, 2027. Incumbent Sen. John Hickenlooper (D) is seeking a second term. Six candidates are printed on the ballot. Certified write-in candidates (not printed on the ballot): Donald Willoughby (Unaffiliated), Will Powers (Republican) and Ryan Apelbaum (Republican).

  • Mark Baisley

    Colorado State Senator, District 4 (since 2023)
    Republican

    Baisley is a former aerospace engineer and software company leader who has served in the Colorado legislature since 2019, first in the House and now in the Senate. He left the 2026 governor's race in January to run for U.S. Senate and was unopposed in the Republican primary. His campaign focuses on reducing the size of government, property taxes, homeownership costs, water storage and immigration enforcement.

  • Christopher Baum

    Retired U.S. Navy officer and computer network administrator

    Baum is a retired Navy officer, former small business owner and computer network administrator who ran for U.S. House in Colorado's 8th District in 2024. In a 2022 candidate survey he said his priorities were changing the voting system to help third-party candidates, election integrity, and smaller government. He had not published 2026 positions as of this research.

  • Bob Chew

    Founder and former CEO of an engineering services company; Navy veteran
    Forward Party

    Chew is a Navy veteran and chemical engineer who co-founded an engineering services company and is running in his first campaign for public office beyond a school board race decades ago. He describes himself as an independent alternative to the two major parties and focuses on Social Security, health care costs and the national debt.

    Hickenlooper is a former geologist and brewpub owner who served as mayor of Denver and two terms as governor before winning his Senate seat in 2020. He won the June 2026 Democratic primary over state Sen. Julie Gonzales. His campaign focuses on lowering prices, health care costs, public lands, and opposition to Trump administration policies on tariffs and immigration enforcement.

    Huber is the Libertarian Party nominee for U.S. Senate. He previously ran for Colorado Secretary of State in 2018 and for president in 2020 and 2024, and was the Approval Voting Party's vice-presidential candidate in 2016. No 2026 campaign website or platform could be found for this research.

  • Adam Withrow

    Withrow is an educator who ran for U.S. House in Colorado's 3rd District in 2024 as the Unity Party candidate. His campaign focuses on a federal living wage, a less interventionist foreign policy, universal health coverage, and a transition to cleaner energy.
