Key dates
- Tue, October 13, 2026: Voter registration deadlineLast day to register, or to update a registration with a new address or name, for the general election.
- Wed, October 14, 2026: Advance voting beginsCounties begin sending advance mail ballots, and in-person advance voting may begin. Dates and locations vary by county.
- Tue, October 27, 2026: In-person advance voting open in all countiesEvery county must offer in-person advance voting by this date. This is also the deadline to apply for an advance mail ballot.
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls must be open at least 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. State law says mail ballots are due when polls close, but under a court injunction that remains in effect for this election, ballots postmarked by Election Day count if they arrive by the last postal delivery on Friday, Nov. 6.
