Key dates
- Sat, October 17, 2026: Early in-person voting beginsRuns Oct. 17-30 at early voting sites in your city or town, including the weekends of Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25. Hours vary by community.
- Sat, October 24, 2026: Voter registration deadlineRegister online by 11:59 p.m., by mail postmarked by this date, or in person. The deadline also applies to address and party changes. People who become citizens after this date may register in person at their local election office until 4 p.m. on Nov. 2.
- Tue, October 27, 2026: Vote by Mail application deadlineYour application must reach your local election office by 5 p.m., no matter when it was postmarked.
- Fri, October 30, 2026: Last day of early in-person voting
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (some towns open as early as 5:45 a.m.). Mail ballots returned in person or to a drop box must arrive by 8 p.m. and cannot be dropped off at a polling place; ballots returned by mail count if postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 6.
