U.S. Representative, Michigan District 4
Represents the district in the U.S. House of Representatives, which writes federal laws, approves the federal budget and taxes, and oversees the executive branch.
2-year term. The district covers southwestern Michigan, including all of Allegan and Van Buren counties and parts of Berrien, Calhoun, Kalamazoo and Ottawa counties, with the cities of Kalamazoo and Holland; Michigan is using the same congressional map it has used since 2022. Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga is seeking reelection. In the Aug. 4, 2026 primaries, Huizenga defeated former Holland Mayor Phil Tanis with about 85% of the vote, and state Sen. Sean McCann won the Democratic nomination over Diop Harris with about 66%. Three candidates are printed on the general election ballot.

Bill Huizenga
U.S. Representative, Michigan District 4Huizenga, a Republican, has represented southwest Michigan in the U.S. House since 2011 and is vice chair of the House Financial Services Committee. He is running on cutting federal spending to fight inflation, expanding domestic energy production, border security and his small-business background.
Sean McCann
State Senator, Michigan Senate District 19McCann, a Democrat, is a term-limited Michigan state senator from Kalamazoo who previously served in the state House and on the Kalamazoo City Commission. He is running on lowering everyday costs, protecting health care and Medicaid, and tax relief for working families.
