Key dates
- Mon, September 21, 2026: In-person absentee voting begins (eligible voters only)At the circuit clerk's office, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Mississippi has no no-excuse early voting; absentee voting is limited to listed groups such as voters 65 and older, voters with disabilities, and those away from their county on Election Day.
- Mon, October 5, 2026: Voter registration deadlineRegister in person at the circuit or municipal clerk's office, or by a mailed application postmarked by this date.
- Sat, October 24, 2026: Saturday in-person absentee votingCircuit clerk offices open 8 a.m. to noon.
- Sat, October 31, 2026: Last day of in-person absentee votingCircuit clerk offices open 8 a.m. to noon.
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Photo ID required. Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the circuit clerk within five business days.
- Tue, November 10, 2026: Mailed absentee ballot receipt deadlineMust be received by the circuit clerk's office by 5 p.m. and postmarked by Nov. 3. Also the deadline for voters who cast an affidavit ballot for lack of photo ID to show ID at the circuit clerk's office.
