- Thu, September 17, 2026: Absentee ballots mailedDeadline for municipal clerks to send absentee ballots to voters with a request on file. Any registered voter may vote absentee for any reason; a photo ID is required with the request.
- Wed, October 14, 2026: Online and mail voter registration deadlineMail registrations, with proof of residence, must be postmarked by this date. After this date you can still register in person at your municipal clerk's office or at your polling place on Election Day.
- Tue, October 20, 2026: In-person absentee (early) voting may beginVoting in the municipal clerk's office may run through Sunday, Nov. 1. Hours and days vary by municipality, so check MyVote or your clerk.
- Thu, October 29, 2026: Deadline to request an absentee ballot by mailRequests from regular and overseas voters must be received by your municipal clerk by 5 p.m.
- Fri, October 30, 2026: Last day to register at your municipal clerk's officeIn-person registration at the clerk's office closes at 5 p.m. Election Day registration at the polls remains available.
- Sun, November 1, 2026: Last possible day of in-person absentee votingNot every municipality offers hours through this date.
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots must be received by your municipal clerk by 8 p.m. (a postmark is not enough). You can register at your polling place on Election Day with proof of residence.
