Key dates
- Fri, September 18, 2026: Absentee voting begins for military and overseas voters
- Tue, October 6, 2026: Absentee voting beginsBallots are mailed starting 28 days before the election, and voters can cast an absentee ballot in person at their county clerk's office through Nov. 2. Any registered voter may vote absentee.
- Mon, October 19, 2026: Voter registration deadline (before Election Day)Registration closes for the general election. From Oct. 20 to Nov. 2, voters can still register in person and cast an absentee ballot at the county clerk's office.
- Mon, November 2, 2026: Last day of absentee votingLast day to request and cast an absentee ballot at the county clerk's office. Mailed ballots still count if they arrive by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DaySame-day registration is available at polling places. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, and voters in line at 7 p.m. may vote. Absentee ballots must be received by the county clerk by 7 p.m. on Election Day; ballots arriving after the deadline are not counted.
