Key dates
- Mon, October 5, 2026: Voter registration deadlineApplies to online, in-person and mailed (postmarked) registration. Georgia does not offer same-day registration.
- Tue, October 13, 2026: Early (advance) voting beginsRuns through Oct. 30 at any advance voting site in your county, including Saturday voting; some counties also offer Sunday voting.
- Fri, October 23, 2026: Absentee ballot application deadlineApplications must be received at least 11 days before Election Day. No reason is required to vote absentee.
- Fri, October 30, 2026: Last day of early voting
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Absentee ballots must be received by your county board of registrars by 7 p.m. (a postmark is not enough).
- Tue, December 1, 2026: General election runoff (only if needed)Georgia requires a majority to win; a runoff is held only if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote.
