U.S. Senator
U.S. senators represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate, voting on federal legislation and budgets, confirming presidential nominees, and ratifying treaties.
6-year term. Regular election for the full six-year term beginning Jan. 3, 2027. Incumbent Jon Ossoff (D) ran unopposed in the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary. Rep. Mike Collins won the Republican nomination in a June 16, 2026 runoff over Derek Dooley. The Libertarian Party did not qualify for the statewide ballot, so two candidates are printed on the ballot. Georgia requires a majority to win; if no candidate tops 50%, a runoff would be held Dec. 1, 2026.
