He won the Sept. 1 Republican primary over Brian Shortsleeve and has not held public office.   • Taxes
    Would enact a gas tax holiday when gas prices exceed $4 a gallon and work toward eliminating the state gas tax, return surplus revenue under state law, and cut taxes and spending by eliminating waste and fraud.[2],[4],[8]
