- Mon, October 5, 2026: Early voting beginsIn-person early voting opens at county clerk and election commissioner offices. Counties that use secure ballot drop boxes had to open them by Sept. 25.
- Fri, October 16, 2026: Voter registration deadline (online, mail and DMV)Online registrations must be completed before midnight; mailed registrations must be postmarked by this date.
- Fri, October 23, 2026: In-person registration and early ballot request deadlineLast day to register in person at your county election office (6 p.m.) and last day for your county to receive a request for a mailed early ballot (6 p.m.). Nebraska does not offer Election Day registration.
- Mon, November 2, 2026: Last day of in-person early voting at county election offices
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain). Early ballots must be received by your county election office or a county drop box by the time polls close; a postmark is not enough. Photo ID is required to vote.
