Federal race · November 3, 2026
U.S. Senate
One of Nebraska's two U.S. senators, who vote on federal legislation, confirm presidential nominees and ratify treaties.
6-year term. Regular election for the seat held by Republican Sen. Pete Ricketts, who was appointed in January 2023 and won the 2024 special election for the rest of the term. Dan Osborn, a registered nonpartisan, qualified by petition and is listed as 'By Petition' on the Secretary of State's certified list. The Democratic primary winner, Cindy Burbank, withdrew in July 2026 and the Nebraska Democratic Party did not name a replacement, so no Democrat is on the ballot. Legal Marijuana NOW nominee Mike Marvin suspended his campaign on Aug. 21, 2026, and endorsed Osborn, but his name remains on the ballot. Robin Richards (Nebraska Working People Party) and Chuck Conboy (America First Party) were nominated by two parties that newly qualified in 2026.
