- Sat, September 19, 2026: County clerks begin mailing mail-in ballotsMailing begins 45 days before the election for voters who have applied for a mail-in ballot.
- Tue, October 13, 2026: Voter registration deadline21 days before the election. County registration offices offer evening registration from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. that day. New Jersey does not offer Election Day registration.
- Sat, October 24, 2026: Early in-person voting beginsRuns Oct 24 through Nov 1. Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment needed.
- Tue, October 27, 2026: Deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot by mailApplication must be received at least 7 days before the election.
- Sun, November 1, 2026: Early voting ends
- Mon, November 2, 2026: Deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot in personIn-person applications at the county clerk's office accepted until 3 p.m.
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mail-in ballots returned to a drop box or the county Board of Elections are due by 8 p.m. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov 9.
- Mon, November 9, 2026: Last day for postmarked mail-in ballots to arriveBallots postmarked by Election Day must reach the county Board of Elections within 144 hours (six days) after polls close. Mailed ballots with no postmark count only if received within 48 hours (by Nov 5).
