Why they say you should vote for them

The candidate's own case to voters, summarized from their campaign and public statements.

  • Says privatizing public schools would let the state eliminate local school property taxes.[5],[1]
  • Promises to veto every tax increase and to use line-item vetoes to cut spending, with the savings used to phase out the personal income tax.[4]
  • Says his campaign gives Pennsylvania voters a third choice for governor now that the Libertarian ticket is certified for the ballot.[3]
  • Proposes a "pro-option" approach to abortion built on adoption.[6]

Where they stand

  • Taxes
Pledges to veto every tax increase, use the line-item veto to cut spending he considers pork-barrel or unconstitutional, and eliminate the state personal income tax within his term. Calls for abolishing property taxes.[4],[9]
  • Education
Would privatize public schools: the state would put about $11,500 per student into an education savings account that parents could spend at any school, school buildings would be sold to private operators, and an independent board would set core curriculum and testing.[5]
  • Abortion
Proposes a "pro-option" approach in which a woman who does not want to continue a pregnancy could legally relinquish the child for adoption, with adoptive parents covering delivery costs.[6]
  • Guns
Opposes gun control laws, arguing that criminals do not obey them and that protecting the right to keep and bear arms reduces crime.[7]
  • Energy & Environment
Calls for an immediate, indefinite moratorium on the planning, building or operation of new data centers, updating state planning law so towns can accept or reject projects, and requiring developers to fund independent water studies and pay the full cost of the electricity they use.[8]
  • Public Safety
Would eliminate parole for violent offenders, pardon nonviolent drug offenders and decriminalize marijuana.[9]
