Key dates

  • Mon, October 5, 2026: Voter registration deadline
    Applications must be postmarked or delivered by this date (moved from Sunday, Oct. 4). Texas does not offer same-day registration.
  • Mon, October 19, 2026: Early voting begins
    In-person early voting runs Oct. 19 through Oct. 30, including a Sunday (Oct. 25).
  • Fri, October 23, 2026: Mail ballot application deadline
    Applications must be received (not postmarked) by this date. Voting by mail is limited to voters who are 65 or older, are sick or have a disability, will be away from their county on Election Day and during early voting hours, expect to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or are confined in jail or involuntary civil commitment but otherwise eligible.
  • Fri, October 30, 2026: Last day of early voting
  • Tue, November 3, 2026: Election Day
    Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m., or (if mailed within the U.S.) carry a postmark or carrier receipt mark no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day and arrive by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
