- Tue, October 6, 2026: Voter registration deadline (online and mail)Registration closes 28 days before the election. After this date, same-day registration is still available in person during early voting and on Election Day.
- Tue, October 6, 2026: Early voting begins at county clerk officesIn-person early voting starts at your county clerk's office 28 days before the election. Same-day registration is available at the county clerk's office.
- Sat, October 17, 2026: Expanded early voting begins in many countiesAdditional early voting sites open on the third Saturday before the election; check your county clerk for locations and hours.
- Tue, October 20, 2026: Last day for the county clerk to receive an absentee ballot applicationApplications must be received 14 days before Election Day. Request a ballot through NMVOTE.ORG or your county clerk.
- Sat, October 31, 2026: Early voting endsEarly voting ends the Saturday before the election.
- Tue, November 3, 2026: Election DayPolls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Absentee ballots must be received by the county clerk or at a polling location in the voter's county by 7 p.m. on Election Day; a postmark is not enough. Same-day registration is available at polling locations.
